from the FOUNDER’s lounge | December 2025

As we close out the year, I’m reflecting with deep gratitude.

I’m especially thankful for the support of women, caregivers, and clients who have trusted me—both in therapy and through the affirmation branch of my work. I am also especially thankful for my children, who shower me with positivity and provide reasons to love, laugh and “show up and be present.” I believe deeply that mental health care should begin early. When children are given tools to understand their emotions, build self-compassion, and develop healthy boundaries, we invest not only in their future well-being, but in our own capacity to care for ourselves alongside them.

This year brought meaningful growth. One pivotal, challenging experience a few years ago within my family ultimately shaped the creation of the affirmation branch of my practice—it was a reminder that not everyone operates from shared values but also a reminder that purposeful work is often born from adversity. That experience created separation from someone who reached out to me during one of my recent trips out of town. It was an unexpected reconnection—paired with uncharacteristic heavy rain in an otherwise dry climate—and it offered clarity and closure. It felt symbolic: release can lead to renewal.

Over the past year, I made intentional choices to grow professionally by attending conferences and to practice caring for myself in new ways, including a wellness trip with friends. While moments of mom guilt surfaced, these experiences strengthened my resolve and supported my family’s growth in resilience and independence. Caring for myself is not separate from caring for my family—it strengthens it. It wasn’t easy, but it was meaningful, and I’m proud of that.

As I move through this holiday season and into the new year, I remain grateful—for community, health, family, and for those who model what it means to honor healing, rest, growth, and boundaries. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s instructional. It’s how we teach resilience, and affirming your resolve isn’t happenstance, it’s built from practice.

I enter the year ahead grateful for the opportunity to lead, learn, and grow within this community, and look forward to continuing this work with intention, clarity, and collective care. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

XO,

Dr. Reon
